Grooming Terms and Conditions
Before the Groom:
- Please ensure that your pet has been given the opportunity relieve themselves before they enter the grooming salon. This will ensure their comfort during their stay with us.
- Please do not feed your pet within 2 hours prior to their appointment and 2 hours post appointment.
- All pet parents are responsible for keeping their pet up to do with their vaccinations and you may be requested to provide evidence of this. We regret that we are unable to groom puppies until 2 weeks after their 2nd vaccination. As a pet parent, you must inform the groomer of any medical conditions your pet may have or is having treatment for.
- Please inform us if your pet has had their kennel cough vaccinations within the last 48 hours. We have the right to refuse any dog that has had a kennel cough vaccination in the last 48 hours due to this being a live vaccination.
- If you arrive more than 15 minutes late for your appointment, we cannot guarantee your appointment will remain available and we may charge a 50% of the groom as a missed appointment fee.
Health of your pet:
- Unfortunately we may be unable to groom pets which are in season or pregnant.
- If your pet appears to have some unwelcome visitors (e.g. fleas, mites or ticks) we may charge an additional fee of £10 to cover the cost to disinfect the salon. We can advise you on any necessary treatment needed for your pet.
- If your pet appears unwell at the time of the appointment, they will not be accepted for grooming due to the risk of cross infection to other pets. We reserve the right to refuse any groom at any time without reason.
- We strongly advise you, as pet parents, to insure your pet. Whilst we take every reasonable precaution to prevent it, we will not accept any responsibility for any loss, injury, death, or illness suffered by your pet whilst in our care.
- We always do everything we possibly can to make sure your pet’s time in the salon is as pleasant as possible. Unfortunately, occasionally grooming can expose a previously hidden medical issue, or aggravate a current one. This can happen during or after grooming.
- {{orgName}} will not be responsible for accidental death of the pet as a result of any pre-existing health condition.
During the groom:
- It is possible that an accident could occur during grooming. Upmost care and caution will always be taken, but cuts, scratches, nicks and quicking of nails could occur. {{orgName}} will not be responsible for any conditions or problems discovered during grooming.
- Should {{orgName}} determine, at it’s sole discretion, that urgent veterinary care is required, I agree to pay all associated fees and costs. If my pet’s vet is not available, I authorise {{orgName}} to use its chosen vet. {{orgName}} will not be liable.
- We will endeavour to groom your pet to your requirements, however, if your pet’s coat is excessively matted, the matted coat will be clipped (shaved) out. Depending on the severity of the matted coat. which will be discussed during your pet’s consultation, there may be an additional charge and therefore it may not be possible to achieve the style you desire. As groomers, our primary concern is to relieve any distress or discomfort your pet may be experiencing as a result of their severely or excessively matted coat. For any after-grooming effects of de-matting, clipping or brushing procedures, or problems uncovered on a badly matted or otherwise neglected coat including, but not limited to, skin redness, itchiness, or self-inflicted irritations from excessive external scratching or rubbing. Time and costs associated with de-matting are unpredictable. I agree to pay whatever fees are incurred as a result of de-matting. Whether a dog is matted is at the sole discretion of {{orgName}}.
Prices:
- Please be aware that prices given are a guide only, as actual costs are dependent on many factors (e.g. coat condition, size of pet, density of coat, temperament, desired and achievable result). Any additional costs will be explained to you.
- {{orgName}} operates a strict policy on missed appointments and I agree to that if I need to change an appointment I will notify {{orgName}} no less than 24 hours before the booked appointment. If insufficient notice is given, I agree to pay 50% of the estimated grooming charges. If appointments are missed on a regular basis, pre-payment will be required.
- Any pets not collected at the agreed collection time will incur an additional charge of £5 per 30 minutes that they remain in holding with us.
We may take before/after photographs of your pet(s) for training and development purposes and for the purpose of marketing and promotional activities. By signing this form, I understand that The Barking Barbers will have the right to use images of my pet(s) for these purposes.
